ONCE AGAIN, we made it to Friday, folks. Monday was a classic Monday, Tuesday was Monday Jr... but the rest of the week? Didn't stand a chance. Way to go team.

We had another winning week last week, and we just gotta keep finding ways to stack weekly wins here. Let's take a look at the Week 5 picks.

IFL Week 5 Review

NAZ-NM Under 83.5 - Loser

  • Combined for 87 points

Iowa-FISH Under 91.5 - Loser

  • Combined for 96 points

QC ML +124 - Winner

  • Quad City gets the upset, 51-36

Arizona -7.5 - Winner

  • Arizona wins and covers 44-31

San Diego ML - Winner

  • San Diego wins 48-42

Tulsa +1.5 - Loser

  • Orlando wins and covers in OT, 61-55

JAX-VEG Over 86.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 97 points

4-3 week that was PRETTY close to being so much better. NAZ-NM overcame a 24 point first half to somehow cover in the second half, Fishers just released the kraken again on Iowa and Tulsa was one play away from stealing the game in Orlando.

Brutal we make mistakes and learn from em. And when life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt. The hurt is good. It means you're out of that cave. (virtual high five for anyone who replies to the tweet of this blog with what tv show that quote is from.)

But anyways, we're on to Chapter 6 of #TheIndoorWar and we've got some bad news for the bookmakers:

we woke up today.

LET'S FIND SOME WINNERS!

2026 IFL Record: 13-8

Orlando Pirates @ Jacksonville Sharks (Friday 4/17 @ 7:00PM ET)

The Play: Jacksonville -2.5

Bruceeeeeeeee

"But Trey, Orlando is 3-0 and number one of the IFL Coaches Poll. How on Earth are the Sharks even favored? And WHY would you pick them?! AREN'T YOU AN ORLANDO GUY?" Yes, there is nobody who is a bigger Orlando guy than myself. As a Day One Orlando Pirates fan, it pains me to make this pick. Absolutely gut-wrenching.

The Pirates are 3-0, correct, but with a combined margin of victory of only 12 points. You could make the case that if you change the result of one single play in each game, you are looking down the barrel of 0-3 in Orlando with some superfans potentially melting down on a weekly basis.

Dante Wright has been the savior for the Pirates this year with three return touchdowns in three games that ended up catapulting Orlando to narrow wins... but he just signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL and won't be suiting up.

Jacksonville finally gets their home opener (in Week 6!) after a tough Vegas game and will have a rocking home crowd in a renewed Orlando-Jacksonville rivalry. Plus a Jimmie Robinson revenge game against his former team?

It just feels like Orlando is due to have one of these coin flip games not go in their favor. Sharks in a one score game.

Prediction: 47-41 Jacksonville

Quad City Steamwheelers @ San Diego Strike Force (Friday 4/17 @ 10:00PM ET)

The Play: Over 84.5

A lot of this please

We are gonna be #BootsOnTheGround for this one in Oceanside!

This one has the potential to be a very, very fun matchup (and could be a preview of the IFL National Championship game if the OTW crystal ball pre-season predictions come true) and I'm truthfully gonna be routing for as many points as possible since we'll be in the building.

Quad City had a big time win over Green Bay their last time out with the offense really clicking and San Diego basically put 48 points in three quarters against in Tucson. If we get four full quarters, this could be a shootout. (please be a shootout, it would rule)

Prediction: 51-49 Quad City

Iowa Barnstormers @ Green Bay Blizzard (Saturday 4/18 @ 5:00PM ET)

The Play: Under 93.5

"This is the time it'll happen!"

This will be the THIRD week in a row I am going with an Iowa Under. Surely this is the one that it will come true, right?

The previous meeting between these two teams featured the backdoor cover of the century to go over 88.5 and it took a second consecutive Fishers 63-point outburst for the Over 91.5 to hit last week. But for this game, I standby the reasoning I outlined last week:

Iowa will need to limit possessions for Green Bay in order to have a chance in this one, which should result in longer drives and less possessions for each team. This is all theoretical and depend on Green Bay not cracking this game wide open in the 1st quarter again.

I'm gonna stick with my stubborn guns and hope this is the week Iowa Overs die by my hand.

Prediction: 46-38 Green Bay

San Antonio Gunslingers @ Vegas Knight Hawks (Saturday 4/18 @ 5:00PM ET)

The Play: Under 84.5

what is a fugz

Heading into this game, San Antonio's offense has scored 22 & 24 points in each of their first two games. Now put that offense that is struggling against a Vegas defense that was flying around the field and dominated Jacksonville last week.

Vegas' offense has been white hot, but San Antonio's defense has been no slouch either. They've been pretty stingy, limiting a Tulsa offense that recently exploded for 55 points to just 29 in the season opener and holding their own against the Rattlers all things considered.

DB Ravarius Rivers is back with the Gunslingers after a stint in the UFL and will be having that crew showing up and hitting. I just don't have any faith in the San Antonio offense to hold up their end of the bargain with the total.

Prediction: 46-36 Vegas

Fishers Freight @ Tulsa Oilers (Saturday 4/18 @ 8:00PM ET)

The Play: Tulsa +5.5

Everybody say it with me: HOMEDOGS!

Tulsa's home opener is finally here and they are coming off of a game in which they should have won in Orlando while exploding for 55 points in the process. TJ Edwards is on fire right now and will look to keep it going in front of the Oilers faithful.

Fishers has shown that they crush teams at home, but came out flat in their only road game of the season so far. They get a big test in the Eastern conference after some cupcake games against the Barnstormers & the Rattlers (it's a jokeeeeeee calm down, you know who you are) and I think Tulsa inserts itself into the conversation as one of the best in the East.

Oilers, homedogs. Book it.

Prediction: 49-44 Oilers

Arizona Rattlers @ Northern Arizona Wranglers (Sunday 4/19 @ 4:00PM ET)

The Play: Arizona -9.5

Is this gif in 8k what the heck

If this line was -11.5, I'd take it. If this line was -13.5, I'd take it. Heck, could probably talk myself into going even higher.

I simply can not trust this Wranglers team against the Rattlers. They looked absolutely lost against Jacksonville in their home opener and continued the trend for the first 30 minutes against New Mexico. It's gonna take a lot more than that 2nd half against the Chupacabras to instill any sort of trust that this Wranglers team is in the same hemisphere as Arizona.

Don't overthink it. Take the snakes.

Prediction: 48-31 Arizona

New Mexico Chupacabras @ Tucson Sugar Skulls (Sunday 4/19 @ 7:30PM ET)

The Play: Tucson -1.5

All hail the hypno-skull

In a rematch of their Week 4 clash that went from "oh dear no New Mexico" to "WOW what a game" pretty quickly, I think we see another instance where the Sugar Skulls walk away with a win.

New Mexico got their first win of the season last week against Northern Arizona, and this Tucson team very nearly pulled off an insane comeback win against the Strike Force but came up just a bit short. This is bordering on "must win" territory for the Sugar Skulls who are looking for their first home win in their 3rd home game of the season.

They lose this one and the road is a little bleak with only 5 home games left in the remaining 14 weeks of the season. Tucson by a touchdown.

Prediction: 48-40 Tucson
