We are at the midway point of the season and what a doozy of a ride it's been so far. We've got some teams who are exactly what we thought they were, we've got some teams that surprise every week and we've got some teams that you literally don't know what version of them shows week in and week out.

But that's the beauty of #TheIndoorWar. Any given Friday, Saturday, Sunday (or Monday in this weekend's case), any team can be given a run for their money. Before we dive into the picks for this week, let's review the week that was in Week 9:

IFL Week 9 Review

QC-GB Over 89.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 105 points

Orlando +8.5 - Winner

  • Orlando wins outright, 60-57

San Antonio -7.5 - Loser

  • San Antonio wins 30-29, NAZ covers

Tulsa +4.5 - Loser

  • Jacksonville wins and covers, 41-34

TUC-ARI Under 87.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 80 points

The goal is always a clean sweep but we can't be too made at a winning week when the dust settles. San Antonio was a SINGLE yard away from scoring to probably cover, but opted to "guarantee the win" instead. Tulsa had control of the game but let it slip through their fingertips (again).

But we're already on to the next one, as we have a delightful seven-game slate ahead of spread out over FOUR days, including the IFL Cup -- which we will be #BootsOnTheGround for! LET'S FIND SOME WINNERS

2026 IFL Record: 30-16

Tucson Sugar Skulls @ Quad City Steamwheelers (Friday 5/15 @ 8:00PM ET)

The Play: Quad City -9.5

It's the John Deere game, babyyyy

This pick comes down to QB play and playing the game "which QB would I rather have leading my teams?"

Option A: Dequan Neal, who has been playing pretty well with some inconsistencies on the offensive end; some within his control, some not.

Option B: Taz Wilson, who has been in the mix for a couple of weeks now but just hasn't ever really proven to be a big play QB through the air.

I'm taking the Steamwheelers in a double digit win in a game that they absolutely must have. Tucson hasn't shown me enough on offense yet to put any trust in them.. until the new QB gets announced next week.. eyes emoji hmmm.

If Quad City does not win this game, their season is over. Give me the Steam, bigly.

Prediction: 49-28 Quad City

San Diego Strike Force @ San Antonio Gunslingers (Saturday 5/16 @ 5:00PM ET)

The Play: San Diego ML

What a week for dudes that go by Iceman, huh?

I am shocked that San Diego is considered the underdog here. San Antonio is riding a 3-game winning streak heading into this one, but when the combined record of the teams faced during that streak is 3-17... it doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence. San Antonio has yet to score 40+ points in a game this season and San Diego has shown the ability to put up points in flashes, but really want to see more urgency and consistency from the offense in this one to get out to a hot start.

Coming off of a bye and some time for folks to get healthy on the offensive side of the ball, I gotta lean Strike Force all day in this one.

Prediction: 48-37 San Diego

Jacksonville Sharks @ Fishers Freight (Saturday 5/16 @ 7:00PM ET)

The Play: Over 87.5

Let's shoot for 100+, fellas

What a GAME this is gonna be. Jacksonville has been sneaky good this year and gets a big test against a Fishers team that is coming off of a heartbreaking loss in Orlando.

Fishers so impactful on the ground their last time out and scored on nearly every single drive, but I want to see more out of the passing attack early in the game to get Felix Harper going to that Freight WR core that is a perfect compliment to their ground and pound style.

Jacksonville had a strong second half last week against Tulsa and is in a really great position to separate themselves from the pack a bit and keep up with Green Bay at the top of the Eastern Conference. Lots of rushing touchdowns expected in this one, with hopefully some scores through the air from both Harper & Cahoon as well. Points, points, POINTS!

Prediction: 53-50 Fishers

Green Bay Blizzard @ Tulsa Oilers (Saturday 5/16 @ 8:00PM ET)

The Play: Over 90.5

Gonna be me for real (but with a football, not tennis ball)

This is another game that is going to be very fun to watch. Green Bay has been on a tear through the Eastern Conference, while Tulsa has been on the wrong end of a handful of coin flip games that could have gone either way as of late.

I don't love the spread and feel like I can't pick against the Blizzard based on how well they have been executing on offense. I still feel like Tulsa can be a threat in the East, but this game is teetering on "Must Win" territory for them if they want to keep up with the rest in the conference. Let's just root for the points here and see what happens, shall we?

Prediction: 54-50 Green Bay

Iowa Barnstormers @ Northern Arizona Wranglers (Sunday 5/17 @ 7:30PM ET)

The Play: Iowa +4.5

Idk how often I'll be able to use an Iowa gif so make it count

I heard someone refer to this game as the IFL Pillow Fight of the Year earlier this week and it made me laugh. Hand up, I'll own that.

A combined one win between these two teams heading into this one and it feels like Iowa finally has a QB that can lead this offense and push the ball down the field. NAZ might have their guy now in Anthony Garrett, but still leaves a lot to be desired through the air after just one game.

If NAZ doesn't get this one, I'm not sure where they find a win on this schedule. Give me Iowa to cover (and probably win).

Prediction: 43-35 Iowa

Arizona Rattlers vs New Mexico Chupacabras - IFL Cup Round 1 (Monday 5/18 @ 12PM ET)

The Play: Arizona -14.5

Slo-Mo Rattler is coming to get ya

Arizona is riding high after kicking the door in on Tucson the last time out with Drew Powell getting the start at QB over Max Meylor, while New Mexico is going to be trotting out a new QB1 in Harry Roubidoux after trading away Ja'Rome Johnson earlier this week.

This is a spot that has the Rattlers in a prime position to blow the doors off of the Chups, regardless of what QB starts for Arizona.

For New Mexico, Ja'Rome Johnson kept plays alive and had to turn nothing into something many times throughout the season, but also had some shortcomings that lowered the ceiling a bit on this team. Roubidoux is going to have his work cut out for him in this one against a Rattlers team that is feeling pretty, pretty good.

Rattlers roll, bigly.

Prediction: 50-29 Arizona

Vegas Knight Hawks vs Orlando Pirates - IFL Cup Round 1 (Monday 5/18 @ 7PM ET)

The Play: Orlando +14.5

Me doing the math on this line

This line was absolutely shocking to me. I'm not surprised to see Vegas favored in this one, they absolutely should be. But to have the line set as the same line as Arizona-New Mexico is crazy to me.

Are the oddsmakers saying that the gap between Vegas & Orlando is the same as the one between Arizona & New Mexico at 14.5 points?

I think Vegas wins this one, but I feel obligated to take Orlando spread strictly from a value perspective. Both offenses have been rolling and the biggest question mark is going to be if the Pirates defense can keep this white hot Vegas offense under 50.

Oh, I'll also be making my radio color commentary debut during this game as well. So that'll be fun!

Prediction: 55-47 Vegas
