Chapter 3 of the The Indoor War was a DOOZY, especially for the OTW as we did The Arizona Trifecta this past weekend:
Three IFL games in two days in The Grand Canyon State (Saturday afternoon in Glendale, Saturday night in Prescott Valley, Sunday evening in Tucson). It was a tremendous weekend of indoor football and got to meet so many awesome people in the community both on and off the field.
I even got HECKLED multiple times for some of my losing picks, which was a treat to experience. But let's look at last week's picks.
IFL Week 3 Review
SD-AZ Over 83.5 - Loser
Combined for 76 points
Northern Arizona +3.5 - Loser
Jacksonville wins and covers, 47-24
Tulsa +1.5 - Winner
Tulsa wins outright, 29-22
Vegas -5.5 - Winner
Vegas wins and covers, 64-43
2-2. Again. A winless Saturday followed by an undefeated Sunday.

Vegas and Tulsa felt like winners from the moment the games kicked off, and as all of these teams start to get into a rhythm for the season, we'll start to learn more and (hopefully) make better educated picks.
Or we could just continue to throw darts and see where we land on the board. BUT REGARDLESS, we're on a mission. A mission from God. We gotta find winners in another four game slate, and HOPEFULLY we can break through to the positive side of .500 and...
dare I say it...
Sweep the board?
LET'S FIND SOME WINNERS!
2026 IFL Record: 6-4

Tucson Sugar Skulls @ New Mexico Chupacabras (Saturday 4/4 @ 5:00PM ET)
The Play: Tucson ML
Our first pick'em of the season!
Both of these teams are coming off of a season opening loss, where they showed some promise in different ways. New Mexico went blow for blow with Orlando and nearly upset them in the season opener, while Tucson had a tough draw against a pissed off Vegas team looking to rebound off of their own season opening loss.
I really liked what I saw from Tucson's rookie QB Draylen Ellis as the game progressed and you could see things started to click a little bit -- but could that have been due to the fact that Vegas pretty had the game in hand at that point? Potentially.
But I trust the Tucson supporting cast around Ellis a little bit more than I do the cast around New Mexico QB Ja'Rome Johnson. New Mexico also loses Wes Bowers to short term IR, which is a big blow and I think will be one that Tucson takes advantage of.
Gimme the Sugar Skulls.
Prediction: 46-40 Tucson
Green Bay Blizzard @ Iowa Barnstormers (Saturday 4/4 @ 8:00PM ET)
The Play: Under 88.5
The Green Bay Blizzard have been one of the hottest teams in the IFL through the opening month, with an offense that has outperformed expectations and a defense that has been reminiscent to their 2024 form that was oh so good. On the other sideline, we've got an Iowa team that is in rebuild mode with a very young roster and hoping to set up a new culture for the years ahead.
In Iowa's opening game, they got off to a good start and had a big emphasis on something that we haven't seen from Iowa in some time:
Running the football with intent.
It feels like Iowa's best chance to win this game is going to be to slow it down and limit the number of possessions for this white hot Blizzard offense.
Slowed down game = less possessions. Less possessions = less points.
Feels like Green Bay still wins, but the first double digit spread of the year is a little scary right now. I'll take the Under plz.
Prediction: 43-34 Green Bay
Quad City Steamwheelers @ Orlando Pirates (Sunday 4/5 @ 4:00PM ET)
The Play: Over 79.5
This is one of my most anticipated matchups of the season. Quad City brought back a LOT of key pieces from their 2025 team that was very good, and improved their secondary and receiving group with some key veterans (and friends of the program).
Orlando bringing in some great pieces that are usually borderline UFL/CFL level players waiting in the queue for their opportunity, including an elite WR group led by Orlando native Nyqwan Murray. Orlando's offense looked like they were playing it safe in their opener against New Mexico, which makes sense considering that their presumed starting QB Taulia Tagovailoa was signed to the UFL less than 48 hours before kick off.
QB Paxton De Laurent didn't have any backbreaking mistakes (sans the whole safety ordeal) in their opener, but it feels like after a bye week and more time to gel with his teammates, we will see an increased level of aggression on offense for the home opener in the CIty Beautiful.
Quad City also looked like they were finding their groove on offense against Iowa few weeks back and they could have an opportunity to pounce on a Orlando secondary that didn't look that great in their season opener. Daquan Neal is coming off of back-to-back 4 Passing TD games and I would anticipate seeing more of the same in this one.
I think we see a lot of back and forth points in the first half, with the total hitting in the early 4th quarter. POINTS BABY!
Prediction: 50-45 Quad City
Arizona Rattlers @ Fishers Freight (Sunday 4/5 @ 7:30PM ET)
The Play: Over 81.5
Now, for transparency I am terrified of having two Overs on the same day. BUT, if anybody can make this happen, it's our dear friends over in Arizona, right?
The Rattlers looked awesome on offense in their season opener and QB Max Meylor looked like he had been in their system for YEARS. Arland Bruce IV was getting in the mix, Ron Brown Jr looked great & Corey Reed Jr picked up where he left off as well. It feels like they could have scored more if they were pressed to do so by San Diego in Week 3, but I think we will see that happen in Fishers.
This Fishers offense has looked really good for about 6.5 of their 8 quarters of football played this year, and it's gonna take a big effort from all phases of the game to pull out the victory in their first ever meeting with the Arizona Rattlers.
WR CJ Windham has really helped elevate this passing attack and open things up for the rest of the offense, and I'm hopefully it will be a back and forth affair in Fishers. That place is gonna be ROCKING and it should be a fantastic game.
Points, points, points.
Prediction: 48-46 Arizona
