We are entering the final home stretch of the inaugural AF1 season! Playoffs have been adjusted to the Top 4 teams advancing, which basically means it is going to be Albany and 3 teams to be named at this point -- but it will be a strong race to the playoffs as the contenders will be squaring off against each other multiple times over the next month to solidify their spot in the dance.

But before we dive into Week 10, let's take a look at how the Week 9 picks went:

AF1 Week 9 Review

Nashville-Albany Under 93.5 - Loser

  • Combined for 126 points

Billings -12.5 - Winner

  • Outlaws win 69-10

Corpus Christi-Oregon Under 81.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 72 points

You can never go broke making a profit, so we'll always take a net positive week!

Billings did exactly what we thought they would to a toothless Wolfpack team and the slobberknocker that was Corpus Christi vs Oregon played out similar to expected as well. Early on in Nashville-Albany, it felt like the Under was going to be the play of the week -- but then Albany did the Albany thing and erupted for 60+ points in less than 40 minutes of gameplay. sighs for 5 long seconds

We only have a two game slate this weekend, so let's just go ahead and sweep the board, shall we? LET'S FIND SOME WINNERS!

2025 AF1 Record: 16-13

Billings Outlaws vs Southwest Kansas Storm (Saturday 5/17 @ 8 PM ET)

The Play: Billings -3.5

This is going to be a very fascinating matchup between these two teams. The new look Billings Outlaws have a set of fresh faces on offense that exploded for 69 points last week and seems to be really clicking with QB Malik Henry at the helm.

Friend of the program DB Dwayne Hollis has brought a veteran presence to this defense that should see them improve week over week from here, and this is a team that has been rebuilt for a run to the playoffs and should be in a good spot in this one to take this one at home.

Southwest Kansas is still a very good team and will be in the playoffs in a month, so I would expect this one to be back and forth with the Outlaws pulling away in the 4th quarter.

Prediction: 47-39 Billings

Washington Wolfpack vs Oregon Lightning (Sunday 5/18 @ 9:30 PM ET)

The Play: Under 79.5

Not gonna get me with this one, no sir. NOT AGAIN.

The first three times these teams met this season:

  • 35-28 in Everett, Washington wins

  • 41-30 in Redmond, Washington wins

  • 37-9 in Everett, Oregon wins

Both of these offensive lines are bad and will probably see the QBs picking themselves up off the ground more times than not. Prepare for another low scoring affair where we'll be lucky if this final score sniffs 70.

Prediction: 36-22 Oregon

Let's have ourselves a weekend. Agree? Disagree? Are you riding or fading?
