At the end of last season, Sioux Falls Storm QB Lorenzo Brown Jr seemingly put a bow on the end of a great IFL career -- leading his team to the IFL National Championship, but coming up short in his "final" game - losing to the Bay Area Panthers.
Brown won 3 IFL Championships with the Sioux Falls Storm (2015, 2016, 2019) and finished his tenure as:
Storm's all-time leading rusher (867 carries)
1st in rushing yards (3,582)
1st in rushing TD's (128)
2nd all-time in Storm history in pass attempts (1,466)
2nd in completions (913)
2nd in pass yards (11,383)
2nd all-time in pass TD's (230)
Just legendary stuff. Combine that with the fact that Brown had a successful run at the University of Sioux Falls, Brown was Sioux Falls through and through and going out as a legend in his city -- riding off into the South Dakota sunset... unless..
From the AZ Central:
Ladies and gentlemen, he's BACK!
Lorenzo "Brett Favre" Brown Jr unretired, signed with Arizona Rattlers THIS WEEK and PLAYED the second half of the Vegas-Arizona game on Sunday evening -- and played pretty damn well!
He provided a much needed jolt to the Rattlers offense after coming in relief at halftime after only 2 practices with the team!
Brown Jr looked like he picked up right where he left off last season, which can be tremendous news for Rattlers fans if Dalton Sneed has to miss extended time.
For those keeping track at home: The Rattlers traded away multi-MVP QB Drew Powell and signed the National Championship MVP in QB Dalton Sneed in the offseason.
Sneed gets hurt, so they started back up Garret Kettle.
Kettle was stinking it up, so they signed Lorenzo Brown Jr, then played him after 2 practices -- and nearly won the game! All in the span of 2 weeks! THIS LEAGUE!
Big shoutout to Kevin Guy for running such a well oiled machine down in Arizona. The Rattlers are going to be must watch TV every week -- regardless of who is at QB.
