A couple more teams made their season debuts in Week 3, with some players made their IFL debuts this week. A couple of rookies stood out to me this week:
Northern Arizona Wranglers QB Joshua Jones
After a less than ideal Week 1 against the Arizona Rattlers, QB Joshua Jones rebounded in a BIG way against Tucson -- throwing 5 Passing TDs and accounting for another on the ground. He looked confident and was in full control of the offense, but most importantly didn't have any costly mistakes for his team. He led them down the field for a game winning drive in the final moments of the game to get his first win as a starting QB in the IFL.
Vegas Knight Hawks RB Taurean Taylor
Taylor got the start in place of the injured Antonio Wimbush and he definitely made the most of it! The Tuskegee University alum had 2 rushing TDs on the day and looked good every time he touched the ball. He is quick and can change direction on a dime, and did it a couple times in big moments for the Knight Hawks.
Haven't seen any word on the extent of Wimbush's injury & absence, but Taylor should be a part of the gameplan moving forward even when Wimbush comes back.
Northern Arizona Wranglers WR Arsiah McCorker
Arsiah (aka RZ) might be the fastest player in the IFL. Through two weeks, he has 6 total TDs -- 3 receiving, 2 return & 1 rushing -- and is quickly turning into the focal point of the Wranglers offense. They utilize him all over the field and he is dynamic when he gets the ball in his hands. They were able to get him involved a little bit in the running game on the edge this past weekend, and I would love to see them continue to do that to take full advantage of what he brings to the offense.
Bay Area Panthers DB Joe Foucha
What a debut from Joe Foucha. He made his impact known on Arizona's very first snap of the game, where he sniffed out a run play to the motion man from his corner position and collapsed on it to make a play behind the line of scrimmage.
The LSU alum was hitting hard all game, nearly had an interception in the 3rd quarter, and came up with the game deciding fumble recovery in the final minutes of a tie ball game. Foucha is going to make some highlight reel worthy plays on defense this season and we got a preview of it in his IFL debut this weekend.
