What a week of arena football! We had teams continue to establish their dominance and some teams continue to flounder, but we turned in QUITE a card last week.

AF1 Week 4 Review

Billings-Washington O72.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 84 points

Oregon +14.5 - Winner

  • Nashville wins 40-32, Oregon covers

Albany-Salina Over 77.5 - Winner

  • Combined for 84 points

Winner, winner, WINNER!

Finally submitted a clean card, and not just one filled with chalky picks and moneylines to make my record look better than it actually is!

We've got a great slate of games ahead, including the first of two Billings-Albany battles, the first road test for the Corpus Christi Tritons and a chance for Salina to (maybe) finally get in the Win column.

LET'S FIND SOME WINNERS!

2025 AF1 Record: 7-5

Not for nothing but the home/away seems to be flipped on all of these, just an FYI

Southwest Kansas Storm vs Salina Liberty (Saturday 4/12 @ 8 PM ET)

The Play: Salina +6.5

Ugh. I picked Salina to cover in each of their first two games against the Corpus Christi Tritons and they failed in spectacular fashion each time -- in fact, they are 0-3 ATS this season. But this game is basically a do or die game for them.

What scares me is the fact that this Turnover-happy offense of Salina is going up against the Turnover-happy defense in Southwest Kansas. Now that I have publicly typed out this sentence, this will either

If the Liberty do not win this game, their season is essentially over. Homedogs with a talented roster and a QB that just needs to not kill his team's vibes and momentum in spot that they MUST WIN.

shivers give me Salina to cover

Prediction: 44-40 Salina

Corpus Christi Tritons vs Washington Wolfpack (Sunday 4/13 @ 7 PM ET)

The Play: Over 72.5

Washington plays yet another home game, this time hosting the Corpus Christi Tritons in their first non-Salina game of the year and their first road test in the AF1. Washington's offense was stymied by a very talented Billings team last time out and Corpus Christi's defense was exposed a litttttttle bit in their second game against Salina. I think Washington will be able to get Ed Crouch going and get the ball into his talented WR group's hands, but Corpus Christi has the ability to trade blows with them. Fred Payton looked really great his last time out and the Corpus Christi WR group is a flying under the radar as one of most efficient in the AF1 so far.

Expecting points stacked on top of more points -- but Corpus Christi ultimately getting the win.

Prediction: 49-43 Corpus Christi

Billings Outlaws vs Albany Firebirds (Sunday 4/13 @ 7 PM ET)

The Play: Billings +9.5

The main event! The game that has been circled on EVERY Arena football fan's calendar since the schedules dropped... then was adjusted...then adjusted again.. then adjusted again.

Both of these teams are tremendously talented and have been head and shoulders above their competition so far this season (even though things got a littttttle close in Nashville for Albany), so it was surprising to me to see Albany as nearly double digit favorites in this one.

Billings has absolutely steamrolled each of their first two opponents and has looked outstanding with first time OC Randy Hippeard calling the plays on offense.

I'd expect this to be a one possession game and come down to the final moments -- so based on that feeling alone I gotta take the points. I think Albany probably wins this one, but the rematch next week in Billings will be must watch TV yet again.

Prediction: 45-42 Albany

Let's have ourselves a weekend. Agree? Disagree? Are you riding or fading?
